Here are the details about some of Jovian's features. The full details can be read in Jovian's online documentation.
Along with the Windows color picker, Jovian can also override the color pickers in the following software:
Adobe Photoshop CS1-CS4
Adobe Illustrator CS4
As development continues, support for more color pickers will be added.
Jovian lets you select a color using a number of different adjustments. You can adjust the color's Red, Green and Blue elements, or its Hue, Saturation and Value. You can also pick a color based on a Color Temperature (Kelvin) or Wavelength (nm).
Chosen colors can also be limited to only those in the Web Safe (216 colors) or Web Smart (4,096 colors) palettes.
Jovian's Color Wheel lets you easily see what the current color's Complementary colors are.
The Wheel's Complement Adjust value can be used to change the angle between the primary color and its complementary color(s).
Each color below the wheel can be clicked to make it the current color. All the colors can also be saved using the Color Exporter.
By using a series of sliders, the Color Mixer can be used to create new colors by mixing together up to nine different colors. Each slider can be given a custom color.
Includes seven Blending Types, for changing how the colors are mixed together.
Jovian's Color Library lets you store and import large numbers of colors.
A text field above the Library can be used to perform a search of the colors' names. Or you can find colors with a similarity to the current color.
The Color History is a folder in the Library which contains the recently chosen colors.
The Libraries page has a number of Library files that can imported into Jovian's Color Library.
Jovian's Pick From Image window has the ability to not only sample just the pixel you clicked on, but sample and average the pixels in a 3x3, 5x5, 7x7 or 9x9 grid around the clicked pixel.
The Multi-Click Sampling feature allows you to click on up to 200 different areas of an image and have all of those areas sampled and combined to create the average color of all the clicks.
Jovian's Pick From Screen button lets you pick a color from anywhere on the screen using the same 1 pixel, 3x3, 5x5, 7x7 or 9x9 sampling as the Pick From Image window.
